WHAT'S IN THE WEIGHT A'MINUTE FOLDER

In the folder with this Read Me file you will notice
the following
- Weight a'Minute, the application.
- Weight, which is the data file.
- Help, which is a help file.
- Manual, a folder containing a manual in HTML format.
- Register, an application you can use to register
Weight a'Minute.

WHAT TO DO THE FIRST TIME YOU START WEIGHT A'MINUTE

The first time you try out the program, please
double-click the Weight a'Minute application.
Launching it in this way ensures that files are
installed in the correct place on your computer.

After the first time, you can click on any of the
Weight a'Minute application or the two files - Weight
and Help - to start the program.

HOW TO USE THE MANUAL

A full explanation of how to use the program is
provided in the manual. To open the manual,
double-click the document "manual.htm" or open your
web browser and open "manual.htm" from within it.

HOW TO REGISTER WEIGHT A'MINUTE

Weight a'Minute is shareware. Shareware is
try-before-you-buy-ware. This means you may try
Weight a'Minute for a while before deciding whether
you wish to buy it. To encourage you to make a
purchase, you are limited to no more than ten entries
unless you can enter a valid registration code.

Weight a'Minute has the following pricing:
- A basic single user licence costs $8. For this, you
get a registration code which you may enter into the
program to remove the ten record limitation.
- A full FileMaker version single user licence
costs $14. For this, you get a registration code which
you may use to open the program from within FileMaker
Pro. With this code, you gain complete access "under
the bonnet" of Weight a'Minute, so you can use
FileMaker Pro to customise it in whichever way you
desire.

Paying for Weight a'Minute is simple. You can register
directly over the internet by going to
https://order.kagi.com/?SCM. Or you can:
- Open the Register program that accompanies
Weight a'Minute.
- Enter your name, your email address, and the number
of single user licenses you desire.
- Save or copy or print the data from the Register
program and send the data and payment to Kagi, the
company that handles payment processing for
Weight a'Minute.

Credit Card/First Virtual

If you are paying by credit card, or you are using
First Virtual, you can email or fax the data to Kagi.
Their email address is sales@kagi.com and their fax
number is +1 510 652-6589 (which is a number in the
USA; remember to add the correct country code if you
are dialling from outside the USA). You can either:
- Copy the data from Register and paste into the body
of an email message.
- Save the data to a file and attach that file to an
email message. There is no need to compress the data
file as it is already pretty small.
- If you have a fax modem, just print the data direct
to the Kagi fax number using your fax software.

Payments sent via email are processed within 3 to 4
days. You will receive an email acknowledgement when
it is processed. Payments sent via fax take up to 10
days and if you provide a correct email address you
will receive an email acknowledgement.

Cash/USD Check

If you are paying with cash or USD check you should
print the data using the Register application and
send it to the address shown on the form, which is:

          Kagi
          1442-A Walnut Street #392-SCM
          Berkeley, California 94709-1405
          USA

You can pay with a wide variety of cash from different
countries but at present if you pay via check, it must
be a check drawn in US dollars. Kagi cannot accept
checks in other currencies; the conversion rate for
non-USD checks is around USD 15 per check and that is
just not practical.

Invoice

If you have a purchasing department, you can enter all
the data into the Register program and then select
Invoice as your payment method. Print three copies of
the form and send it to your accounts payable people.
You might want to highlight the line that mentions
that they must include a copy of the form with their
payment.

Kagi can not invoice your company, you need to act on
its behalf and generate the invoice and handle all the
paperwork at your end.

Please do not fax or email payment forms that indicate
cash, check or invoice as the payment method. As far
as we know, there is still no technology to transfer
physical objects via fax or e-mail and without the
payment, the form cannot be processed. Payments sent
via postal mail take time to reach Kagi and then up
to 10 days for processing. Again, if you include a
correct e-mail address, you will hear from Kagi when
the form is processed.

HOW WE LET YOU KNOW YOUR REGISTRATION CODE

Once your payment has been processed by Kagi, you
will receive an email containing your registration
code. If you do not have an email address, please
enter your complete postal address in the Register
application and remember, we do not know what country
you live in, so please enter that into the postal
address also.

If you do not have an email address you should
consider selecting the Postcard Receipt so that
Kagi can inform you of your registration code.
Kagi transmits the registration codes via email and
paid postcard receipt only.
